Perkins Smart Oil Cap Wins the 2018 Edison Invention Award Gold Medal

The 31st Edison Awards ceremony in 2018 was held on April 11 at the Capitale Club in New York City, where the Perkins® SmartCap won the Gold Award in the Innovative Application Technology category.

The Perkins SmartCap (Perkins® SmartCap) is suitable for all new and existing mechanical and electronically controlled Perkins engine models. The smart oil cap is very easy to install; end users only need to replace the original oil cap with it, then connect their engine and smartphone through the Perkins® My Engine App. The oil cap monitors the engine's operating status and directly transmits data to the Perkins My Engine App.

When used together, the Perkins SmartCap and Perkins My Engine App allow Perkins customers to access truly useful information about their engines, including engine running time, engine location, maintenance reminders and records, parts manuals, and consumable information.
The SmartCap also helps users conveniently access specific engine information, including the build standard checklist, series, category, model, Perkins Platinum Warranty Program indicators, and operation and maintenance manuals. The App is available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese versions, providing instant engine information to users in major language regions worldwide; more language versions will be released later in 2018.
