Facing extreme weather that may cause river overflow, flash floods, and landslides, what countermeasures should excavator users take?

　　Today, the editor has compiled precautions for excavator construction and maintenance during the rainy season, hoping to be helpful to everyone.

Precautions for Construction During the Rainy Season

　　1. Before construction, pay attention to observing the surrounding environment and check whether the construction site is soft or has risks of vehicle sinking. A common method is to use a bamboo pole to poke downward manually; if multiple poles can be pushed down easily and quickly without resistance within 1 meter, it indicates the area is all silt, where ordinary excavators can easily get stuck and cannot operate normally.

　　 2. Before construction in mountainous areas during the rainy season, first observe whether there is a possibility of landslides, collapses, or debris flows on the mountain. Check if the mountain is fractured, if there is unreasonable excavation, improper dumping of soil, waste, or quarrying, whether vegetation is growing well, and if the mountain runoff is turbid.

　　 3. During construction, if you feel the excavator is starting to sink, stop work immediately, find a support point to brace the vehicle body with the boom to prevent further sinking. Quickly drive the excavator back along the original path and avoid moving in other directions.

　　 4. Stay vigilant when working in the rain. Night work should ensure the excavator's front and rear headlights, work lights, roof lights, instrument lights, wipers, and other equipment are functioning properly to ensure safety.

　　 5. After construction, be sure to park the excavator in a safe area at higher ground close to the residence, away from possible landslides, rising river water, and other dangerous zones. Also, ensure the excavator has sufficient fuel to start and evacuate at any time.

Precautions for Storage During the Rainy Season

　　1. If possible, store the machine indoors in a dry place and thoroughly clean it to remove mud and debris.

　　 2. When parked outdoors, check whether the fuel tank and hydraulic oil tank caps are tightly closed to prevent rainwater from seeping into the tanks and causing unnecessary trouble.

　　 3. Inspect the machine and repair worn or damaged parts, replacing them with new parts if necessary.

　　 4. Clean the main air filter element and lubricate all lubrication points if possible. Retract all cylinders; if not possible, apply grease on the exposed hydraulic cylinder rods for enhanced protection, and place the tracks on long, stable blocks.

　　 5. After fully charging the battery, remove it and store it in a dry and safe place. If not removed, turn off the main power switch or disconnect the battery negative cable from the terminal.

　　 6. Pay attention to the wear of the sealing ring on the engine oil dipstick to prevent rainwater from seeping into the engine oil. Also check the oil filler cap; when parked outdoors, cover it with a plastic bag if necessary to ensure complete protection.
