Injector
The injector is the main component in the fuel injection system. Simply put, its task is to deliver the appropriate amount of diesel into the piston at the right time for the combustion process.
To achieve this, the injector must complete three main tasks during each operation:
Measure the fuel quantity according to the engine model used
Have a timing mechanism for the fuel
Perform atomization, turning the fuel into a fine mist capable of combustion

Injector working process
The injector is shaped like a nozzle. A metered amount of fuel is injected under high pressure, filling the chamber around the needle valve, which is controlled closed by a spring. The valve only opens when a preset specific pressure is reached, then the fuel is forced into a second, lower combustion chamber, and subsequently enters the engine's main combustion chamber through a series of small holes.
These small holes are specially designed to disperse the fuel into tiny droplets, a process called atomization, aimed at forming a fine mist that easily ignites under the strong pressure generated by the cylinder itself.
Afterwards, the fuel supply is immediately cut off by the injection pump or timing valve, and the needle valve is closed again by the spring compression force.
Depending on the engine model, injectors can be divided into mechanically controlled and electronically controlled types, equipped with single or multiple atomizers.
Perkins injectors are reliable, safe, and high-performance, capable of opening and closing thousands of times per hour.
